The Afterlife was the place the Egyptians believed they would go after death. In Egypt, the afterlife was supposed to be even better than the life they previously lived. They also believed that when you died, you would go on to a raft that would take you to the gates of the afterlife. There, the god of the afterlife, Osiris, would test you to see whether you were worthy enough to pass through the gate. This belief is important because it helped provide to the religion for Egyptians to believe in. It also allowed most Egyptians to look forward to death, seeing as it was a blissful place. The afterlife played a big role in Egyptian religion.

A scribe recorded in writing the everyday life and extraordinary happenings in ancient Egypt. These scribes also allowed Egypt to be organized and record data of their findings and past records. These scribes were very important people in ancient Egyptian society.

This writing system was one of the first writing systems in the world. By being able to write, Egyptians had further communication, and were able to keep records.

This is linen cloth. Linen cloth is cloth woven from flax(or in Egypt's case papyrus). This linen cloth was used to wrap mummies, make cloths, and beautiful pieces of furniture.
As this material was an easy resource to come by in Egypt, many things were made of this soft fabric. |
