This is picture is of Ramesses II. Ramesses II. Ramesses II was born about 1303 BC and died July or August 1213 B. Referred to as Ramesses the Great, he was the third Egyptian pharaoh (reigned 1279 BC - 1213 BC) of the Nineteenth Dynasty. He is often regarded as the greatest, most celebrated, and most powerful pharaoh of the Egyptian Empire. The reason why people call him the greatest are because he ruled longer than any pharo. Also, he built many new structures and helped Egypt through all the war that was facing them.

This is a diagram of succession from the Egyptian king to his son. Succession is the action or process of inheriting a title. Without succession, when the pharo died there would be nobody to take his place. Luckily, Egyptians had succession so the eldest son of the Pharo would take over when his father died.

Embalming is to treat (a dead body) so as to preserve it, as with chemicals, drugs, or balsams. The Egyptians believed that is order for the soul of the dead body to go to the afterlife, the body must be preserved(just like the soul). This played a huge part in Egypt's religion and culture. The Egyptians preserved the bodies so well that even today the bodies are still in good condition.

A mummy is the dead body of a human being or animal preserved by the ancient Egyptian process by embalming. The mummy is the finished product after the dead body goes through the embalming treatment. This mummy would be placed in a coffin and then put inside a tomb. This was another part of the Egyptians culture and religion for a dead body.

Papyrus is a grass like water plant found in the Nile region of Egypt. Egyptians used papyrus for almost utility in their life. This plant allowed Egypt to have a very advanced technology for its time. With this advantage over others, Egypt went on to be one of the longest lasting empires to ever rule.
