Hieroglyphics and other Egyptian inventions
Egypt had many key inventions that inspired today's society. One things Egypt invented that paved a path for today's society is hieroglyphics. Hieroglyphics was a type of writing that helped the people of Egypt keep records, learn, draw, and communicate. Egypt was also one of the first nations to use a form of writing. This form of writing helped Egypt be very advanced in technology, and organized. Another key innovation the ancient Egyptians made was finding amazing uses of the plant Papyrus. With this plant they were able to create parchment, reed boats, mats, rope, sandals, and baskets. So, Egypt was able to have some of the first kinds of technology that we still use today. Egypt had many key inventions and innovations that inspired today's society, and helped Egypt survive. How Egypt was organized: Egypt was a very organized society. For example, Egypt had a very organized monarchy with a pharo and all of his advisers. This allowed not all the power to go to one single person. I think it is not organized to have all of the power to only one person, with no advisers because the government would not be very organized with one leader to make all of the choices. Egyptians were smart and chose to balance the power more evenly throughout the high class. In addition, Egypt had scribes to keep very good notes and records of data and past events. This made it so Egypt did not forget important that they needed. Since they didn't forget their information they were very well organized. I have made a message in hieroglyphs, using the website DiscoveringEgypt.com. This message says, I hope I get a good grade on this project. The only way to do that is if my teacher, Mr.McGee is considerate enough to do so.

Egypt's Medical inventionsOne key Medical invention Egypt was the first to discover was antidotes, a kind of advanced medical technology that cured wounds and diseases. Antidotes were made of scorpion and/or snake venom. Antidotes could also include plants in the recipe. This venom and/or other ingredients could cure the patient in a days to a few weeks. However, the doctors of ancient Egypt did not call this work there own. They called it the work of the goddess Sekhmaet, the goddess of healing curses and threats. This shows that Egyptian doctors where some of the most advanced doctors around at their time.
This is a picture of a papyrus basket. This papyrus basket was one of the first kinds of baskets. These basket helped Egyptians carry things from one place to another. In addition the baskets made of papyrus the Egyptians made set the road for more advanced baskets in today's society.
This is a photo of sandals made of the plant papyrus. These were the shoes Egyptians wore. They were also one of the first kinds of shoes to ever be made. These shoes protected their feet and allowed more advanced shoes in the future.
This is a picture of parchment made of papyrus.
Scribes used parchment to keep records and record history. Parchment also gave the Egyptians something to write on to inspire hieroglyphs. Egypt was the first nation to use a paper like invention. Without the Egyptians discovering parchment, today we probably would not have paper. |
This is a picture of rope from ancient Egypt made out of the plant, papyrus.
Papyrus rope was important to ancient Egypt because it was a tool for building new inventions and structures. This rope was one of the many key factors that allowed ancient Egypt to succeed.
